Abstract:
As of now, theoretical and experimental analysis is inconclusive regarding the existence of a particle-stable pure neutron cluster. The analogy to fermionic 3-Helium atoms, however, motivates the search for such an exotic state. I will use a combination of the modern description of the nuclear interaction as an effective field theory with shell-model estimates and few-body calculations up to *five* particles, and extrapolate from the results on the inevitable stability of a pure neutron system.
