Abstract:
I will discuss schwinger pair production in
abelian gauge field and scalar field background
and utilize them to understand the structure of
perturbation theory in supersymmetric field
theories as well as in holomorphic quantities in
string theory as computed by the Gopakumar-
Vafa invariants.
