Abstract:
An observable gravitational waves signal on
CMB scales, has always been the core
distinguishing prediction between inflation
and its alternatives. After reviewing the
basic observables of the CMB, I will give a
brief review of "bouncing cosmology", an
alternative to inflation, and show how an
observable gravitational waves signal on
CMB scales is generated in this model due
to interaction between gauge fields and the
scalar field driving the cosmic evolution. I
will then discuss how this result can still be
distinguished from inflationary predictions.
