Abstract:
Effective actions based on scalar fields or
Goldstone bosons are frequently used to
describe fluids. The precise interpretation
of such actions from a gravitational point of
view has been somewhat unclear. In this
talk I will describe a holographic
interpretation of such effective actions and
discuss the connection to other approaches
to fluid/gravity duality.
