Abstract:
We show that black holes, acting as
impurities, could stimulate false
vacuum decay. Along with the detailed
derivation in a thin-wall approximation
for a general case, we consider an
application of such catalyzation by
black holes for the problem of
metastability of the Higgs vacuum in
the Standard Model. For this last
example, we also discuss a set of
numerical solutions of fully
backreacted Einstein-Higgs system
without thin-wall approximation.
