Abstract:
Through AdS/CFT, we now have detailed
knowledge of quantum gravity for negative
cosmological constant. I will discuss attempts to
transfer this know-how to the real-world case of
positive cosmological constant. The main
novelty of a positive C.C. is that the speed-of-
light barrier confines every observer inside a
cosmological horizon of finite size. This creates
a conflict with holography, where the entire
space (or its boundary) is the typical arena. I will
describe my work towards overcoming this
conflict, within a model involving higher-spin
gravity on a folded-in-half version of de Sitter
space.
