High Energy Theory Group Seminar: "Black holes and random matrices"

Date:
Wed, 28/12/201612:45-13:45
Location:
Kaplun building, Room No. 200
Lecturer: Dr. Guy Gur-Ari
Affiliation: Stanford University
Abstract:
The late time behavior of correlators is a
probe of black hole information loss. I will
discuss this question in the context of the
Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model. The observed
late time features are explained by
random matrix theory. I will lay out some
possible implications of the connection
between black holes and random matrix
theory.
