Abstract:
This talk will review recent work carried out at
the Computerized Archaeology Laboratory at
the Hebrew University. The laboratory is
equipped with optical scanners which provide
high resolution digitized 3D models of
archeological finds. The digital data are further
elaborated to extract properties and measures
of the finds which provide new and significant
input to the Archaeological research. Here, I
shall illustrate our methodology by focusing on
examples from our works on ceramic and lithic
artifacts, and emphasize the dialogue
between the computer based approach and
traditional Archaeology.
