Search for Planets in Eclipsing Binary Systems
Studying planet formation without including the formation of planets in binary star systems is surely incomplete since bound binary stars are one of the most common environments in the Galaxy. We therefore use photometric methods to search for planets in eclipsing binaries. We present two novel techniques: one for the identification of transiting circumbinary planets,
and one for the detrending of all the light curves of transit surveys – and in particular the CoRoT light curves. Both techniques are found to be naturally-derived and efficient in practice.
