Abstract:
New trace anomalies appear in the presence of
exactly marginal parameters. They can be
thought of as sigma models in the space of
theories. We show that these anomalies lead to
surprising consequences for certain super
symmetric theories. One can prove that the
space of theories has trivial Kahler class. One
can further prove that the sphere partition
function has a universal normalization given in
terms of the metric in theory space. This allows
to compute the exact metric in theory space in
certain super symmetric theories. We discuss
some explicit examples such as Seiberg-Witten
theory.
