"A New Front in the Battle for Black Hole Unitarity":
The AdS/CFT correspondence has widely been viewed as resolving the black hole information problem in favor of unitarity, but recent work has emphasized the extent to which we do not understand how the resolution works. In this colloquium I will give an overview of these new developments, both introducing the problems and giving some discussion of the proposed resolutions. Techniques from quantum information theory are becoming more and more useful in studying this problem, and I will illustrate this as I go.
