Astrophysical Analysis of 21-cm Experiments
The first stars and quasars reionized and heated the intergalactic medium. The prospect of studying reionization by mapping the distribution of atomic hydrogen across the universe using its prominent 21-cm spectral line has motivated several teams to design and construct arrays of low-frequency radio telescopes. I will discuss how the cosmic reionization history and the properties of the ionizing galaxies can be recovered, with various statistical techniques, from upcoming 21-cm experiments.
